Charles Manson first clapped eyes on Sharon Tate, Roman Polanski’s girlfriend, in March 1969. Manson went to the couple’s property uninvited looking for a previous resident. Manson was met by Shahrokh Hatami, a friend and photographer of Sharon Tate, who went to the front porch and asked Manson what he wanted. Hatami informed Manson that the property now belonged to Polanski and Tate but that he should perhaps try the guest house. That evening Manson returned to the property and went back to the guest house which was being lived in by Rudi Altobelli. Altobelli, having already met Manson at Dennis Wilson’s home the previous year, informed him that the previous resident was now in Malibu.

In June of that year, Manson commanded Watson to obtain money to aid the Family’s preparations for the oncoming conflict. Watson ripped off a drug dealer named Bernard Crowe. When Crowe threatened to kill everyone in the Family, Manson shot him in his Hollywood apartment. Worried about the repercussions after falsely believing Crowe was a Black Panther, Manson fortified the Spahn Ranch. What a crazy man! No uhren on earth could sort him out!
