It's pretty nice right? It's got that old school classic photography feel with the crisp clear technology of a modern DSLR.
It's essentially a compact camera with a large APS-C sensor and a fixed 35mm equivalent field-of-view F2.8 autofocus lens, a 2.7" LCD and 12Mp CMOS sensor with an ISO range of 100 to 3200. Ahhhhh!
But they're so expensive!
The Leica brand just seems to have that charm about it though, people go crazy for Leica cameras old and new.
Last December (2010) a Leica MP2 camera built in 1958 broke records when it was sold for €402,000 at the Westlicht Photographica auction, shooting up from its starting price of €80,000.
That's so much money for a second hand film camera! It was the most expensive Leica ever sold at auction.
Although I'd love to be able to afford it, maybe one day when I'm a millionaire and have money managers like Rowan Dartington looking after all my finances for me, I'll be able to buy a whole load of Leicas!

Hi I’m looking to buy an SLR before I go away travelling for a few months. Problem is, I was wondering how easy to get hold of the Camera Batteries are going to be once I’m out of Europe. I’m planning on taking some very off the beaten track kind of roads, so ideally I need something that’s not going to set me back too much. Any thoughts on what might best serve me? Should I perhaps look for a different kind of camera or will an SLF be fine?
Do I need to look for some kind of special booster pack to go with it as an accessory? Are there any compatiable batteries that are available that I could charge easily enough while I am on the go. That would sure make things a hell of a lot better.
Also, has anyone else ever gone an extened travelling holiday like this one with the primary purpose of expanding your photography portfolio? If so, what kind of equipment did you use?
I know that these are a lot of random questions, but it would be great if one or two of you get get back to me some of them.
Cheers my deers.
The island is one of highlights of visiting Australia. If you have been ‘down under,’ and not touched down upon this sandy mass of land just off the coast of Brisbane then you have not really done Oz in my opinion.
Amongst the largest sand islands in the world, the place is a natural phenomena, that due to the growth a unique type of moss is actually covered in vegetation despite being comprised mostly of sand and volcanic rock.
The place is genuinely stunning and fits the picture of what paradise should look like. It’s like being on the set of Lost.
Definitely worth a trip, and if you do go, make sure to visit the wreck of the old World War II hospital ship, Maheno. Breathtaking.

If there is one thing that Devon is renowned for it is fudge and the place is literally brimming with Venders selling the stuff. If you are looking for quality though, it is probably best to bypass most of the coastline stores and head over to Edward’s Fudge Kitchen in South Devon. The Kitchen, locally and British owned is committed to making traditional and authentic fudge using only natural and locally sourced ingredients.
From someone like myself with a very renowned sweet tooth, this really is the best. I have never tasted fudge like this that manages to embody sweetness, texture and creamy goodness all at once. Experimenting with a variety of flavours to boot there is something for everyones taste here.
If you are interested in any outside catering work check out. www.efkfudge.com, or better still, just pop into the store and ask for a sample!
